Arabia Of Finland Ruska Pattern Lidded Sugar Bowl and Creamer. Vintage 1973. This listing is for the set. Hand applied semi-matte glaze in dark mocha and dark brown. The name Ruska means “Autumn Colors” in Finnish. Designed by Ulla Procope of Finland, a renowned ceramic artist in Finland. Mid-Century Modern design. Arabia is known for it’s strength and durability. Ulla Procope, the artist, is known for designing some of Arabia’s most famous patterns. This pattern was discontinued in 1999. The 8 ounce creamer is 3 inches tall and 4 inches across top from handle to spout. The Sugar bowl is 4 inches tall with lid and 4 inches in diameter. Each piece is unique. Some of the early pieces were not stamped in the 60’s and early 70’s. I can vouch for their authenticity as I worked for this company in the 1970’s and these are from my personal collection. I have never known of any other stoneware that has the durability of Arabia. This set was never used as I have another set like it. Arabia was established in Finland in 1873 and is respected for it’s design and quality around the globe. No chips, cracks or crazing.
