See photos for details and condition.
This print is under glass. This is a Gerlach-Barklow print and has a wood frame - see NOTE below. The print is a from a painting by J. L. G. Ferris that was done in 1908 called Bringing Home the Bride. It features a Colonial porch with a bride and groom, buildings in the background and a slave and her youngster watching the scene from the left.
The Gerlach Barklow Co. was an art calendar factory located in Joliet, Illinois, which was "one of the largest calendar and advertising companies in America. Artists who worked for Gerlach Barklow included Arthur H. Hider, Bradshaw Crandell, Adelaide Hiebel and Zula Kenyon. Many of the company's artists were women, or local residents, and many local residents served as artists' models.
Gerlach Barklow calendars were purchased by businesses to be given to their important customers as gifts.
