Antique Wedgwood Basalt Vase

Antique Wedgwood Black Basalt vase. It is made from black basalt, a fine-grained, hard, and dense stoneware developed by Josiah Wedgwood in the 1760s. This material was designed to emulate ancient bronzes and Egyptian stone. The vase features a fluted body and a scroll of grapevines in high relief around the neck, showcasing neoclassical details and craftsmanship. Wedgwood Black Basalt has been produced continuously since its introduction in 1768. Authentic “Wedgwood Made in England" stamp on the bottom.
