This beautiful item is a vintage covered bowl made by Watt Pottery in their popular "Apple" pattern. Watt Pottery operated from 1922 until a factory fire in 1965, and the Apple pattern was introduced in 1952 and became a bestseller.
Manufacturer: Watt Pottery Company, based in Crooksville, Ohio.
Pattern: "Apple," which features a hand-painted design of a deep red apple and green leaves against a cream-colored, oven-safe clay background.
Produced between 1952 and 1965. Pieces with three leaves, like the one pictured, typically date to before 1958.
Identification: Most original Watt pieces are marked on the bottom with the word "Watt," "Oven Ware U.S.A.," and a mold number, often within concentric rings.
Watt Pottery is highly collectible due to the factory closure and simple, hand-painted designs, meaning no two are exactly alike.
Crazing is noted in the picture which is normal for a piece that is this old, but it has no chips or cracks and is in remarkable condition given its age
