Antique Vintage Tiffin Vaseline "Uranium Glass" Bowl and Candlesticks, Flared Rim, circa 1920s Sometimes referred to as yellow canary satin glass Manufactured before the official start of the Atomic Age, circa 1920s. Glass makers for over a hundred years had used uranium oxide to tint their glass green. The green "Uranium Glass" will fluoresce under a black light (short wave UV). The particular type of glass here is often referred to as "Vaseline Glass". It is important to note that the level of radiation given off is NOT harmful (the level is only slightly above normal "background" radiation) Excellent vintage condition - no chips or cracks - there are a few small bubbles and a couple of tiny scratches on the bowl, but nothing major (please see pictures) Bowl measures 3.5" high and 9.25" in diameter across the top Stand measures 1.5" high and 3.5" across Twisted / spiral candlesticks measure 8.25" high and 4" across base
