A favorite of mine. Antique Victorian study in oil on board of a monkey encouraging a cat to play a musical instrument (guitar?). Artist unknown. Circa 1860-80. Slightly surreal. Size of frame: 12.25 x 11 inches. Size of painting aperture: 11 x 9.5 inches. Condition commensurate with age - superficial marks & scratches and some damage to edges of gesso frame and a piece missing from the gold inner card but all part of its charm and character. Priced accordingly.
