This Antique Victorian Silverplate 7-piece Rotating Condiments Cruet Set features a beautiful etched floral pattern and on both the caddy and some of the glass vessels. Made between 1850-1899, it is stamped 1053 but I cannot find the makers mark. Sometimes called a castor set, she's a Guilded Age beauty.
The six jars and bottles held salt, pepper, vinegar, oil, and mustard. They all have lids/stoppers. The central carousel has a unique floral motif on the handle that looks like palm trees.
It has not been polished. You may choose to do so, but many collectors value the aged patina. It makes you curious about the Victorian owners and the convivial dinner conversation that happened around this set.
It stands 16 inches tall with a 5-inch diameter base. In very good vintage condition. Have not attempted to polish; deliberately left the visible tarnish as found. One of the bottles has an obviously non-original stopper (the large spherical one probably came from a decanter). That same jar has a hairline crack as highlighted in photos. The screw-top bottles (salt and pepper) have dented tin caps and chipping on the lip
