Antique Victorian Era Sterling & Enamel Spider Web Necklace - Repair Needed

Spiderwebs were thought to be symbolic of wisdom in the Victorian period & although repairs are needed this piece is truly remarkable given the age. Circa 1880’s, originally in a riviere style (this one is missing), the tenth dangling from the centre was a drop. This delicate piece features 9 Linked woven sterling silver wire spider webs, each with a central spider with blue & green enamel & a cylinder clasp. Conditions: the original cylinder clasp is not functional & will need to be replaced. Most of the enameling is missing & some of the delicate legs are either bent or missing. Although unmarked the necklace was made in sterling silver & there is age appropriate patina. With a clasp replacement this necklace is wearable. Someone who has knowledge of enameling restoration could really bring this beautiful piece of history back to its original beauty.
