Tubular Scottish White Banded Agate - Carved c. 1860 -1910 - c. 2" Long w Original Sterling Cap and Pendant Bale. This is a fine example of Victorian Era jewelry. This Cross was carved making artful use of the graceful white banding. Highly Polished. The original Sterling Silver cap and soldered jump ring are in excellent condition. On request I can polish the silver before shipping. Otherwise it has it's original patina that has developed over the years.
Queen Victoria loved going to Balmoral Cottage and everything Scottish. So it was during her reign that the especially strong banded agate of Scotland became popular. Especially attractive is the contrasting white banding against the brown tones of this Agate.
