Antique Spanish Hand-Embroidered Needlework Sampler
Details: Large Spanish square-format folk art silk embroidery band sampler, likely late 18th–early 19th century. Features intricate geometric and floral motifs arranged in concentric squares, stitched in pale muted shades of blue, green, yellow, pink, and terracotta on a natural linen background. The central crest depicts a crowned double-headed eagle with the name “LOIZO ROSA.” Worked in multiple techniques, including cross, satin, and chain stitch. Framed behind glass in a thin wood frame with attached hanging wire.

Condition: Very good antique condition. Fading, brittleness of backing paper, and light wear consistent with age. Patina to the wood and textile add to its historic character – see photos.
