Antique Vintage Schildkraut Petitpoint Hairbrush + Mirror Set - antique, vintage condition.... beautiful!!! - mirror is approx 4.25" wide (at it widest part) - the mirror is beveled around the edges which indicates a higher level of craftmanship - approx 11.75" long - the brush is approx 3.75" wide (at it's widest part - approx 9" long Both pieces are fairly heavy and are adorned with gilt filigree design, adding to their ornate and vintage aesthetic - it appears handcrafted or customized to me - features petit point embroidery, a fine needlepoint technique with 900 stitches per square inch on the backside of each as well as down each side of the handles - the brush bed is wooden and I have photos of the writing in gold underneath the bristles - Made in England, Pat. No and it also says that the bristle board is detachable - there is a sealed plastic covering over the embroidered design which makes me believe it is hand crafted This set is considered a collectible vanity item.
