This antique Santo Domingo (now Kewa) Pueblo basket pot is a finely hand-coiled Native American clay vessel created in the early 20th century (circa 1900–1930s). Basket pots were designed to mimic the form and pattern of woven baskets, but crafted in clay using traditional Pueblo techniques.
This piece has an earthy, organic feel, with surface wear that reflects its age and authentic use. The pot’s basket-like form and warm slip coloration are typical of early Santo Domingo pottery made before mid-century.
Origin: Santo Domingo (Kewa) Pueblo, New Mexico, USA
Era: Early 20th century (1900–1930s)
Technique: Hand-coiled, fired clay
Design: Basket-inspired form with natural slip tones
Size: Approx. 3.75" tall × 4" wide (6.2 oz)

This small but important example of Pueblo pottery demonstrates the artistry of the Santo Domingo people during a transitional period when pottery was made both for local use and for collectors.
A rare and authentic Native American piece, perfect for collectors of Pueblo pottery, basketry, or early Southwestern art.
