This is one of those rare finds that feels like it came straight out of a storybook cottage.
This 8-piece Rosenthal Bavaria plate set dates to the late 1800s–early 1900s (1891–1906) and every piece is hand-painted — no transfers, no repeats, no factory pattern. Each plate carries its own personality, coordinated through soft greens and romantic trailing roses.
The smaller plates are individually signed “Williams”, a porcelain artist known for turn-of-the-century studio work, and each small piece beautifully complements its paired larger plate. The artist clearly had talent, but also painted with a natural, expressive hand — these weren’t meant to be perfect; they were meant to feel alive.
All plates are in excellent antique condition with no chips, cracks, or crazing. After more than a century, the finish has gently softened into a matte-to-semi-gloss sheen — a natural patina you only see on genuine antique porcelain. The gold rims remain visible and add a delicate vintage frame to each floral scene.
The whole set carries a dreamy cottagecore feel — soft greens, faded pinks, old-world roses, and that hand-painted charm that makes each plate feel like it has been loved for generations.
