Antique Print (1878) Fielding Schofield "The Proud Art Shall Conquer" 9"x11"

This is an antique print from 1878 by Fielding Schofield "The Proud Art Shall Conquer”. Schofield, (1845-1924) was a master of offhand flourishing, a style of ornate penmanship that involves freehand, elaborate decorative strokes and designs. Known as the undisputed master of the pen as reflected in this ornate peacock drawing based on the motto from The Teacher of Penmanship journal. The full motto is "The Proud Art of Beautiful Writing Shall Conquer the Hearts of All Men". I've never removed it from it's plastic casing. Purchased the Alameda Point Antiques Faire, and still in great antique condition. Measures 9" by 11".
