Antique New Wharf Pottery Tennyson Saucers Plates Set of 2 Brown White Transferware Aesthetic Movement 6"
Antique New Wharf Pottery Tennyson pattern brown transferware saucers dating to the late 1800s. The pattern features delicate floral and scenic motifs framed by a geometric border. Each piece bears the TENNYSON / Rd No 709 / N.W.P. Co mark on the reverse. They are beautifully aged with fine crazing throughout and tonal variations typical of ironstone from this era. The design remains crisp and richly detailed in sepia-brown. Each measures approximately 6" in diameter.
Condition: These plates were previously owned and show visible age-related wear consistent with use and time. Both have extensive crazing; one has more pronounced darkened staining and a small rim nick. The most notable flaws are highlighted in the photos. Despite these, they retain a lovely antique charm and make a striking display. This Tennyson pattern is relatively uncommon, making the pair a wonderful addition to a collection.
