Antique porcelain monkey drummer figurine. - A monkey is dressed in clothing of the early 1800s, including a bicorne hat. Stunning attention to detail with the fur strands individually hand painted and gilt details on his elaborate outfit. - No maker's mark but it was almost certainly made in Germany at some point in the 1800s based on the style. Makers Meissen and Volkstedt made similarly styled monkey orchestra figurines which are highly collectible. - There is a chip to the white and gold base, however the monkey itself in in good overall condition.
