During the late 19th Century and Turn of the 20th Century craftsmen started putting images,
names, and dates onto items like fine porcelain and glassware. This is one of those items!
The picture is Arch Rock in Mackinac National Park, which was a United States national park
that existed from 1875 to 1895 on Mackinac Island in northern Michigan. In 1895, the fort was
decommissioned and, at the request of Michigan Governor John T. Rich, the park and fort was
turned over to the State of Michigan, becoming Mackinac Island State Park, the first state park in Michigan
