Antique late 1800's/early 1900's architectural salvage / elements / remnant of Greek God Hermes. These pieces were used as roof decor pieces in Greece from 1800-1900's. This piece is very well molded with clear and distinct features of of the god. He has little cherub-style wings upon his head and he is positioned beneath an acroterion / akrokeramo.
Can be used as a decor piece on the end of a shelf or mantel or side table. Is heavy enough to function as a classic bookend. Wonderful piece!
Size: 8.5" x 6" x 6.75"
Condition: Has a couple of chips around the edges (but not over the important parts of subject). Felt lined, heavy piece. Has some old vegetation that has completely dried into an additional textural element. Lovely.
