Hand-painted porcelain Nippon vase, produced in Japan for export to the West between 1891 and 1921.
The term "Nippon" (Japanese for "Japan") was required on all imported Japanese porcelain by the U.S. McKinley Tariff Act of 1891.
The square-mouthed, double-handled design features hand-painted floral motifs and a scenic landscape.
Nippon-marked pieces are considered collectible and generally have a higher value than those marked "Japan" (which became the required mark after 1921).
This vase is in new like condition. No chips, cracks or crazing.
