Antique Goofus Glass Vase 1900-1920 approx. 10” tall. This information was taken from Mitzi’s Collectibles: “Goofus glass was made by several American glass companies in the first 30 or so years of the 21st century. It was typically a pressed crystal (clear) glass that was “cold painted” with gold metallic, red and green paint. The vases, plates and platters were given away at carnivals as prizes. (not fired like carnival glass). It has not been reproduced yet. Do not submerge the Goofus glass in water. Due to the cold-painting technique, the gold paint will loosen. Due to the crevices, Goofus tends to store dust. As you can see from the photos this piece has lost some paint but not bad for being 100 years old. There are no chips or cracks.
You can see minor spots where the red paint was on the roses. This item came from an antique store estate.
