Antique German Nassau Selters Stoneware Clay Bottle Jug salt glaze good color Great orange tan color and patina sets this apart from many of these old bottles that are found. Stamped logo on the front is readable. On the back just under the handle is something that is unreadable and then stamped “Num 29” This very old piece has survived a long time, but not without a few condition issues. Please note there is a chip to the top lip. There are chips to the bottom base and at least one chip to the side of the container. Additionally, the handle, while intact, does have the beginning of a crack in the middle and also has the beginning of a separation where it attaches to the bottle on the lower part of the top. None of the aforementioned flaws detract from the beauty of this bottle and only give it more character in our opinion. Additionally, please note that the crack on the handle appears to be something that happened during the process of making this bottle and not something that happened with age.
