Vintage from the 1900s Materials: metal, brass About this item: Vintage French one of a kind brass box probably designed for tobacco. The charming aspect of this box is the, perhaps rather naively, etched coat of arms. This shows three comical devil heads and two stars in the emblem. I have searched for this heraldic crest in the database of French family crests but found nothing similar. There is some residue around the outer rim of the bottom half and a black mark on the inside of the box. See photos for further details. Could be used as a cufflink or jewellery box, tobacco box, or trinket box. In good condition, although this antique it does show obvious signs of previous use & discoloration. Approx.
