Circa 1875-1880. This is an original, stunning soup bowl in PEONEY pattern by Josiah Wedgwood of cream ivoryware earthenware pottery, typical of the Josiah Wedgwood pottery in Staffordshire England district. The Potteries is an excellent website that presents a fascinating history of early English pottery and tells the story of the iconic Wedgwood designer and tells the origin of the term "pot hole"! What appears to be a hairline fracture on the bottom of the bowl is not detectable by touch. There is a 3/8 inch chip at the rim of the bowl and another chip on the bottom side. Please exam photos.
