Vintage Floral NIPPON Hand Painted Small Gravy Boat - ANTIQUE prior to 1921 Because of shape I call this a gravy boat without a plate. It can be used for cream or for maple syrup for that matter. how cool is that? Perfect for serving one or two people. If you ahve time find a few of these to mix and match for individual place settings and make some waffles or make mashed potatoes and gravy... you will love the results. The hand painted design of floral is great. The flowers appear to be apple blossoms of wild roses. The touch of blue on the inside trim is a gorgeous touch and matches the floral blues. The piece is also gold trim with wearing of gold on the handle. otherwise, it is in pretty dang good condition for its age! OH and inside is are two little glaze skips but not a big deal. you can see in pictures if you click to enlarge. approx 6 1/2" including the handle x 4 5/8" tall - please see pictures of measurements Nippon marking ended in 1921 and was changed to JAPAN. Therefore, this piece is prior to 1921 making it a true antique. Just think of it - the end of Nippon markings was just as the flapper age was coming into being.
