This is a beautiful antique hand-painted porcelain jardinière / centerpiece, dating to the late 19th–early 20th century. Likely produced in France (Old Paris) or Germany (Dresden decorator studios), it features:
* Deep cobalt blue ground with raised 24k-style gilt scrollwork and floral accents
* A finely hand-painted romantic Watteau-style scene of a courting couple in period attire
* Ornate gilded scroll handles at each end and raised gilt paw feet
* White porcelain interior with irregular molded contours
* Hand-painted underside numbers “1191 / 1823” (factory mold and decoration codes)
Condition:
* Displays beautifully with strong colors and gilt.
* Some expected rubbing to gilding, and a small chip on one corner (see photos).
* No apparent major repairs under black light inspection.
Dimensions:
6.75"(W) x 2"(D) x 3.75"(H)
Authenticity Note:
Under UV black light, the porcelain shows the characteristic soft “skeleton” fluorescence of true antique high-fired porcelain, confirming its age and authenticity.
This is a striking decorative piece, suitable for display as a centerpiece, jardinière, or cachepot. Collectors of Old Paris porcelain, Dresden, or 19th century cobalt gilt porcelain will appreciate this rare find.
