Antique Chinese Mudman figure

Antique style Mudman ceramic figurine measuring in at just over 4 inches in height. Great collectable piece. There is a makers mark although I am not able to identify. The picture of the base shows it and if you have any suggestions for it please feel free to input. I can't tell if it's initials in English (AWD?) or Chinese that simply appears as such, most likely it says "CHINA" as most Mudman figures are stamped that way.
