Antique Cast Iron Sad Iron Rest, Flat Iron Trivet, Enterprise MFG. Co. Phila. USA, 4 1/2" x 6", c.1930s Enterprise Manufacturing Company was founded in 1864 and produced a myriad of goods. One item they were well known for was their sad irons. This trivet would have been used to hold those while they were hot so that nothing was burned. There were three varieties of Enterprise trivets made; this was the least common of the three. Due to the delicate manner in which this style was made, this piece is prone to breakage (which is why these are so hard to find!). Only one trivet is included in this sale. Please note that as a vintage item, this piece is prone to having scuffs, faded paint, or scars, but that is what I love best about these pieces. I do not consider them defects, but rather marks of character, and I'm sure it has a beautiful story to tell.
