Antique Cannetille Butterfly Brooch, Vermeil 800 Silver

*Description: Delicate cannetille butterfly brooch from the 1940s or earlier. This is a silver pin with gold vermeil cannetille work which is a close relative to filigree. This style became popular in the early 1800s and remained popular into the early 1900s. Cannetille work was made to look like fine embroidery. The pin is longer than the rolling clasp and the side of the clasp hinge is stamped but due to age is unreadable. It is a beautiful work of art and would be a great addition to your vintage jewelry collection or make a great vintage gift! *Approximate Measurements: Length - 1 1/2 Inches, Width - 1 5/8 Inches *Condition: Great vintage condition.
