Antique Chi-Namel Quarter Sawed Wood Grain Pattern Roller Tool. Truly a rare and unique old pattern roller made of carved leather that will roll out a wood grain pattern. The roller is stamped on both ends and reads, "The Chi-Namel Quarter Sawed Oak Grainer", "Style No 5" and "Patent Applied For" which are a bit worn, however somewhat ledgible. Chi-Namel was made by the Ohio Varnish Company; Cleveland, Ohio. This tool was made circa 1908-1920 and was patented by Paul A. Gstalder. Measures approx. 8 1/4" long x 4 3/8" wide. Very good condition for its age.
