Burmese lacquer containers are traditionally crafted using a combination of materials including woven bamboo, the sap of the Thitsee tree (Melanorrhoea usitata), and ash or sawdust. The bamboo forms the base structure, the Thitsee tree sap (also called "thit-si") provides the lacquer coating, and the ash or sawdust is mixed with the lacquer to create a putty-like substance called "thayo" for shaping and filling
Condition is very good though there is wear consistent with age.
