Antique Brown Taffeta Velvet 1900s Victorian Ballgown Skirt United Costume Film This piece comes from my personal costume collection and as such I will not cry if it does not sell I purchased this item in 2006 at a western costume rental sale. It appears to originally have come from the archives of the United costume company TBS is written in marker on the tag and the interior of the waist This appears to be true from the Victorian/Edwardian period, which happens with a lot of costume houses in Hollywood. They purchased antique clothing and then rented/sold them to movies and television productions that needed period appropriate clothing. In order to display properly you would want to put a large crinolin or hoop skirt, this was photographed without anything underneath it which makes it look a little flat. There are multiple tears, stains and the fabric is faded in many places. Wrinkled from storage.
