Charming square ceramic dish with a detailed blue design and gold edging. With a classic hand painted landscape pattern. This type of blue and white porcelain was one of the most classic porcelains in Chinese history. The patterns are hand painted with the blue pigment derived from cobalt oxide. This plate was made in the 19th century for export to the Western markets. These were made in the Chinese city of Guangzhou, formerly known as Canton, this type of ceramic’s namesake. Excellent pre-owned condition, a little staining on the edge as shown and some scratches on the gold, no chips or cracks Measurements Length 9” Width 7.75” Height 2.25”
