The hand-painted design features two children playing - a rare pattern. the ceramic style is known as Imari ware, traditional to Japan. The name "Imari" comes from the port of Imari, from which this porcelain was shipped to the West starting in the 17th century. This piece dates back the mid-19th century during the Meiji period when these exports reached their peak.
Excellent pre-owned condition, some very minor wear on the pattern, no chips or cracks
