This is the most incredible antique piece I’ve come across in a very long time. It’s a copper pendant (solid? plated? Don’t know but it’s HEAVY which is why I’m passing it along) that was given as an award to the 4th place winner in a Class E horseshoe-throwing competition in 1959. HOW AMAZING is that?!
I love old things and the energy attached to them and it’s incredible to think about the person who won this and what they were like. I wore it throughout the early days of the pandemic because I felt like it was a time where things weren’t going as I expected, at all—and I’m sure this recipient didn’t plan on winning 4th place either. But she might have worn this anyway and been proud of all she *did* accomplish and I tried to do the same.
Chain is copper-tone and vintage but not original to the piece. Measurements in photos. Please feel free to ask any questions. Thanks for looking!
