This antique Fry Glass Co. casserole dish from the 1920s in beautiful pearl opalescent glass measures 7 1/4" in diameter and is 2" deep.
The mold number on the bottom of the dish, is NOT the year it was made. The mold number for this piece is 1941. It is followed by -7 which indicates that this is a 7" casserole.
The bottom of the casserole is marked:
"Fry
Ovenglass
1941-7
Pat. 5-8-17
Pat. 5-27-19"
It is in very good condition, especially considering its age! There are a few scratches from use and the casserole has white flecks inside the glass. The inside rim has a few minor chips and fleabites. These issues do not detract from the beauty or utility of the piece. The last picture attempts to show some of the white flecks in the casserole dish.
We do have a lid, # 1938-7-D that could be used with this piece. It is about a quarter of an inch too small and doesn't sit on the rim as it should. However, if the piece is only for display, it does make a nice set. You can find it in our store and we will be happy to combine shipping if you choose to purchase it as well.
