Antique 1915 Effanbee Baby Catherine Doll , 20 Inches, Composition and Cloth

This is a rare 1915 Effanbee Baby Catherine doll, measuring 20 inches tall. She features a composition head and lower arms with painted facial features, blue eyes, and painted lips. Her body and legs are made of stitched cloth, firmly stuffed with sawdust. She retains her mohair wig, though thinning with age. Baby Catherine wears a period silk dress and underdress. The silk dress is shredding, the underdress just has some spotting. This doll is marked “Effanbee” on the back of her neck, confirming her as an early Effanbee creation. Condition: Composition head and arms show typical age wear, including some cracking and flaking. Wig is fragile and thinning. Cloth body has age discoloration but remains intact and firmly stuffed. Clothing shows wear; the pink striped dress is shredded, the white cotton dress is sturdier with some light spotting. Overall presents beautifully as a genuine antique display doll, over 100 years old.
