Antique 19th Solid 10kt Gold Victorian Roman Soldier Intaglio Carnelian Gem Pendant Sard is a semitransparent to semitranslucent variety of chalcedony that is darker and less saturated than carnelian. Sard was popular for hard stone cameo and intaglio carvings. Very unique piece. My grandma picked it up on her travels when she was young. I have for decades, and I'm more into silver and turquoise. Hope it's a treasure for someone like it was for my grandma. The last picture is the closest example I could find to compare.
