Anna Huling Dupioni, belted silk dress with irregular diagonal bars pattern in blue, violet, yellow, orange, and pink. Eight mother-of-pearl buttons secure the dress in the front up to the collar. The "24 sleeves close with shirt cuffs which would need to have a button sewn on each. The garment was sewn for market as a sample and has never been worn. The length from back collar to hem is "41. The inseam is "34. Dupioni (also referred to as Douppioni or Dupion) is a plain weave crisp type of silk fabric, produced by using fine thread in the warp and uneven thread reeled from two or more entangled cocoons in the weft. This creates tightly-woven yardage with a highly-lustrous surface. It is similar to shantung, but slightly thicker, heavier, and with a greater slub (cross-wise irregularity) count.
