American Modernist Christian Schmidt Original Sterling Necklace Vintage

This is the one kind piece of art created by Christian Schmidt. My grandmother had exquisite taste. She believed in the arts. I’m not sure of the date of this piece, but know it is mid-century most likely circa 1970. Christian passed in 1974. The store where she purchases it must have had pieces in stock . I did some research and provided some information on this artist in one of the photos. I found some markings on the clasp with jewelers I but I can’t see that they make reference to Christian’s mark. However, based on the box that my grandmother wrote, and you can see that he was one of the artists. And since I posted two others that have the Philip Morton mark I can only assume this belong to Christian. This piece is an excellent condition. It measures 8.25 inches from top to bottom. It is about 5” side to side in the neck area. I took a picture of this piece on me. Please know that I am 5 feet 9 inches tall and a little on the heavy side. My grandmother was a petite 5’2”-5’4” and more a size 4. It looked fabulous on her!
