Alexander McQueen vintage contoured panel mini dress, circa FW08

From Lee McQueen’s Fall/Winter 08 “The Girl Who Lived in the Tree” collection—a lavish, mythic fable about empire, isolation & transformation—this sculpted sheath boils McQueen’s sharpest tailoring down to its most potent form. Jet-black contouring meets slick shiny black insets at the sides, creating an anatomical curve that slices in & sculpts the waist without relying on ornament. Though the collection crescendoed in opulence, early archival looks like this foregrounded his razor tailoring.
