This is a very important work of wearable art . It was created by a jeweler who I was proud to even know, let alone call a friend. Alex Woo was a world renowned jewelry designer. Even if you never recognized her personally in TV or movies, chances are you saw her jewelry designs on film. Some notable pieces from her "Little Icons" Collection kicked off the trend for personalized jewelry. Alex designed the yellow gold "C" necklace worn by Carrie Bradshaw in "The Carrie Diaries", a precursor to "Sex and The City". Multiple characters on the TV show "Gossip Girl" wore her jewelry on set, including the "BW" initial necklace worn by lead character Blair Waldorf played by Leighton Meester.Eva Longoria and Christina Applegate were among her largest fan base. In fact, Christina and Alex in tandem designed a special necklace for the non profit " Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation", founded by Applegate. That is why it is with a heavy heart I part with this beautiful gift. Alex passed away suddenly from Breast Cancer on March 3rd, 2021 at the young age of 47. She was a beautiful and giving person that wanted nothing more than for her family and friends to be happy and healthy. It is time for me to pass her love and happiness forward in the way of the beauty she created in her hands. She actually began showing promise at age eight as a bench jeweler. The Cornicello charm can be worn on a chain or cord, but it is currently on a pink ribbon It weighs 6 grams and is 35mm.
