This specifically a vintage piece likely by Alcock Lindley and Bloore. The Brown Betty teapot originated in Staffordshire, England with its design evolving over centuries. The Staffordshire red clay used in its construction ws refined in the late1600's, and the teapot's rounded shape and red clay body are key features that contribute to its excellent heat retention and tea-brewing qualities. ALB was a notable manufacture of these teapots, known for innovations like unique nozzel for slp decoration and unusual dowturned spout design to prevent drips.
