This is a hand-painted Native American pottery turtle, possibly made by a Navajo or Acoma artisan. The shell features a stylized landscape with a teepee, warrior, trees and mountains against a colorful sky. It appears to be signed by an artist named Lili or Lele on the side of the turtle in the trees. Similar turtles are described as coming from Acoma or Navajo potters. These turtles are often made from natural clay and are highly sought after by collectors. No damage that I can find although there are a couple of marks depicted in photos 2-3. Please review all photos as they are part of the description.
