scwilli1 @eyeleopard yes, as I said, it was bought through consignment so I was fooled. I have collected quite a few Doonies and so has my mother, and they were bought from varies venues (ebay, consignment, etsy, etc), some I bothered to make sure were real and others I assumed. I mean, I never thought Dooney was covetable enough to be replicated, but you never know! I'm just happy I didn't spend a bunch of money on it.

scwilli1 @eyeofleopard trying to make sure every purchase bought secondhand is truly the real deal is just a pain; the fact that there is a replica and version of EVERYTHING makes it task to pick and choose. When things have been purchased/sold, re-purchased/sold again and again, I can't bother to go asking where it was originally purchased. Rather just by it new and go from there. Then, when I decide to get rid of it, I KNOW what I'm selling.

scwilli1 @eyeoftheleopard to me, it's honestly not that big of a deal. Now, if I spent $500+, I'd be beyond made, like if I bought a Prada or Celine resale for instance. I couldn't imagine buying a replica for thousands of dollars; it must be horrible!

scwilli1 @eyeoftheleopard yep, that's why I didn't think much about it. I'm no Dooney & Bourke enthusiast; I saw the duck, so I was satisfied. Like I said before, I didn't realize Dooney was covetable enough to be replicated like it is. It's still a nice bag, real or not. Whoever made it came up with a decent style imo. lol.
