AUGUSTE BONAZ Vintage Hand Carved Tortoiseshell French Barrette, NOS

A fabulous extra large hair clip carrying the Auguste Bonaz name. Bonaz was a Parisian accessory designer extraordinaire, the best of the best. This piece was hand carved and in a tortoiseshell color with a silver French clip back. Signed by A. BONAZ with his classic signature. His signature was always very subtle so it hard to see but it’s there. I tried to capture it the best I could- it’s carved into the upper left hand side on the back. The hair clip is in great condition and is unworn. It does have some scratching from being stored for so many decades (it comes from a collection from a long gone Paresian store). The light scratching is really only visible close up and is more prominent on the backside of the clip. Measurements 3.75” across at its longest in the front & 2” top to bottom at its longest. The silver clip back measures a bit over 3” long. Great for quick updos, fancy updos, a quick ponytail, etc. A great designer statement piece!
