AS IS Vintage 1950s '50s Wool Cocktail Dress w. Lace Sleeves & Small Velvet Bows

AS IS vintage 1950s gray wool cocktail dress, lined. Metal zipper, lace sleeves, with black velvet bow accents on sleeves. Nipped waist with full skirt. The lace sleeves add a touch of 18th-century flavor. Condition: A number of issues, but possibly a clever seamstress could get around them. The fabric is flawed under the arms of the sleeve & bodice on both sides (not piling but felting or something -- nothing that shaving it could fix, unfortunately -- see photos 3 & 7). There is some damage to the lace of the front of the right sleeve (see photo 4) which might be reparable with some 100wt thread of the correct color. There is a small hole on the front bodice (see photo 5), which is not very noticeable and is in about the correct spot to be covered by a brooch. Finally, there is a small white spot on the front of the skirt (see photo 6) which is also not very noticeable. Although it was designed this way, I feel that it should also be noted that the zipper zips in the middle of the back & does not go all the way up. A clever seamstress could replace it w. a full 22" zipper, for it is unessential to the style for this to be so (as there's no collar with which to interfere Measurements: Bust: 34" Waist: 24 1/2" Hips: Free Length (shoulder to hem): 38" Sleeves: 13 1/2" Label: Betty Barclay, size 11. Care Label: None, but dry-cleaning is recommended (if you must hand wash it, be sure to remove the velvet bows first). Lined w. crinoline and acetate.
