ANTIQUE SILK BABY KIMONO, FROM 1914 WITH EMBROIDERED FLOWERS

This wonderful silk baby kimono was my mother's, who was born in 1914. It is double layers of silk, with the outer layer a more textured look. The inner lining and hem areas are a smoother, shinier silk. It is very delicate with little white and pink flowers embroidered overall. It is a very pale sort of teal color. It measures 17” long, with the underarm seams being 6” long. This gorgeous kimono is in great antique condition with just a very tiny hole and pulled thread at the back of the neck area. Being over 100 years old, it would be a beautiful treasure to display or use for a baby shower. I hand washed the kimono in Woolite, so it looks a bit rumpled.
