ALLURING 1940's BLACK FELT WIDE BRIM FEDORA + FEATHER WINGS & CURLY QUILLS

This is such an elegant look from the 1940s'! The hat is made of very fine black velour felt. The brim is wide and turned up at the back, and the conical crown is surrounded by a black grosgrain band, which ends in a boil at the side. There is a beautiful set of feather wings in a yellowish/green color, plus there are tall curly quills. This is a timeless look to wear with any outfit! The wartime 40’s saw a huge variety of hats that were suitable for any face shape, hairstyle or personal preference. Throughout the war & on both sides of the Atlantic, elaborate creations brightened dreary utility fashions, brought about by rationing. The only items not rationed were hat materials. Explosions of feathers, veiling & artificial flowers were popular. There is no designer label, indicating it was a custom-made creation. Please keep in mind that you are buying a vintage hat, not new nor perfect! This is an authentic piece of fashion history! This hat is in wonderful vintage condition & has been lovingly preserved among over 1300 vintage hats we have collected for 40+ years.
