It is a two layer dress with the under layer being a light weight black wool with black sequins sewed completely over the surface. On top of this is a sheer black silk layer which is ruched down the front and draped in small tight drapes down the back. The layer of silk gives a subtle quality to the layer of sequins undernearth.
