This is normal as this is a quick break in, antiqued hide that is designed to fade and weather quickly. Headwind Mfg Co's A-1 racer jacket is our own unique design based on the vintage windcheater type leather jackets made in the 1930's. These jackets were made for a variety of uses including, hunting, golf, automobile driving, flying airplanes and riding motorcycles. Our A-1 Racer is a melding of the A-1 jackets of the time combined with the styles of the vintage sporting jackets and what would become cafe' racer jackets. All the materials are 100% 1920's-1930's correct, with Horn main buttons, Casein inner buttons, 100% seamless wool knits, and a soft cotton sateen liner. This jacket is made from Headwind's Bull Run Buffalo hide. It is a thick and tough 1.6mm hide with a lot of grain variance. It has a rich seal brown color with lighter brown and tan undertones providing a beautiful antique look. This hide breaks in extremely fast becoming antique looking in months rather than years. The hide remains strong after break in even though it looks antique, it is a strong hide that will stand the test of time.
